A Winning Partnership for Sustainability: Exeter Chiefs and DCW Renew for the Seventh Year

Recycling Success at Sandy Park Drives DCW Partnership Renewal with Dual Player Sponsorship

Devon Contract Waste (DCW) and Exeter Chiefs have revealed the results of their partnership at Sandy Park, achieving a 12.5% reduction in general waste volumes and a 13% recycling capacity improvement during the 2025/26 season. Now, DCW has confirmed it will continue the collaboration for the 2026/27 season. As part of the partnership, DCW will also sponsor men’s team captain and former Wales captain, Dafydd Jenkins, alongside English international and Chiefs Women’s scrum-half, Flo Robinson.

Last season saw a successful sustainability campaign at Sandy Park with improvements that significantly reduced their environmental impact, enhanced waste segregation across the stadium, and created visibly cleaner stands on matchdays.

With thousands of fans attending every home fixture, the Exeter Chiefs have worked with DCW to enhance the recycling infrastructure across Sandy Park. Twelve colour-coded recycling stations were installed in key areas of the stadium for match days, making it easier for fans to separate recycling, food waste and general waste. A dedicated recycling video encouraged fans to play their part by putting their waste in the right bin.

As DCW renews its partnership with Exeter Chiefs for a seventh year, the focus will be on driving recycling rates even further and exploring new ways for Sandy Park to meet its environmental commitments which benefit both the local community and the environment.

As part of the renewed partnership, DCW will support Jenkins as he returns to the Gallagher PREM after sustaining a shoulder injury against Northampton Saints in June, alongside Red Roses star Robinson, through the new dual sponsorship deal.

Grant Scott, General Manager at DCW, said:

“We’re excited to be extending our partnership with Exeter Chiefs and to be sponsoring two exceptionally talented players. We’re looking forward to seeing improved recycling rates over this next season. What makes this partnership so effective is the co-operation between the club, fans, and our waste team. Everyone works together to have a real impact. Exeter Chiefs exemplify the power of the sporting sector to help educate fans and drive sustainability”.

Mark Isaacs, Chief of Stadium Operations at Exeter Chiefs, added:

“Working with DCW over the past 18 months, we have delivered several improvements, as well as a real educational approach to our supporters here at Sandy Park on a match day. At the same time, engaging staff and contractors has been equally important in helping us deliver our environmental objectives.”
