At DCW Ltd, we’re proud to support Exeter Chiefs in their efforts to become a more sustainable club. This season, we’ve made it easier than ever for you, the fans, to play your part in protecting the environment while enjoying the game.
We’ve introduced new recycling stations across Sandy Park to help you quickly and responsibly sort your rubbish. Each station features three separate bins for:
🍔 Food waste – which we send to an anaerobic digester to produce renewable energy and fertiliser.
♻️ Mixed recyclables – ensuring more materials can be recovered and reused.
🗑️ General waste – which we send to an energy from waste facility to generate power.
To encourage everyone to get involved, we’ve created a video featuring two try-scoring stars, Tom Cairns and Greg Fisilau.

By using the recycling stations, you’re directly helping the Chiefs improve recycling rates and reduce the environmental footprint of the stadium. Food waste, for instance, is taken to Langage Farm, where it’s processed into energy to power local businesses and fertiliser for Devon farms.
Grant Scott, our Regional Business Manager, says:
“Working with Exeter Chiefs is an exciting opportunity for us to show what can be achieved when businesses and sports teams collaborate. We’ve made recycling easy for fans because we know that together, we can make a real difference for Sandy Park and the environment.”
This partnership is part of a wider commitment from both DCW and Exeter Chiefs to lead the way in sustainability. With new food waste regulations coming into effect in 2025, we’re helping the club stay ahead of the game, and we can do the same for local businesses looking to improve their own environmental performance.
Mark Isaacs, Director of Stadium Operations at Sandy Park, says:
“This recycling initiative with DCW is another fantastic step forward. By making it easier for our fans at Sandy Park to recycle, we’re not only improving our own operations, but we’re also hoping to encourage them to think more sustainably when they leave the stadium.”
For us at DCW, this partnership isn’t just about managing waste; it’s about building a culture of sustainability here in Devon. We’ve been working with local businesses to improve recycling rates and reduce waste for decades, and now we’re proud to be doing the same for the Chiefs.
So, while you’re enjoying the game at Sandy Park, look out for the recycling stations and make sure you sort your rubbish. Every time you use the bins, you’re helping the Chiefs make a difference — one small action at a time.
