DCW is constantly investing in its machinery, processes, and vehicles so we were delighted to take delivery on a new front end loader truck last week.
Decked out in DCW’s signature blue, the £230k truck boasts the very latest in technology with a low emission euro 6 engine, ensuring we can keep our emissions to a minimum whilst we collect waste for recycling from Devon, Cornwall and Somerset businesses.
It also has a larger body than some of our other trucks, increasing capacity by 20% per full load so that we can work more efficiently.
Simon Almond, Managing Director at DCW, commented: “We’re pleased to announce the arrival of this new vehicle which will help keep our emissions to a minimum whilst out on the road and will increase the amount of waste we can collect at any one time.
“This is the first of eight new vehicles for 2023 as we look to introduce more environmentally friendly vehicles to our fleet. We have considered electric vehicles before, but the current technology is simply not suitable for our rounds. We cover the whole of the South West and electric vehicles just don’t have enough range. Who knows, maybe that will change in the future when electric vehicles become more advanced, but for now, our new low emission front end loaders will help us lower our carbon footprint as a company.”
